happy birthday sweet baby!!
if i could rewind this year and live it over again i would. it has been such a beautiful year with our sweet new member. every moment has been pure joy.
one thing i've learned about mira is that when she decides to do something she just does it. she's on her own timeline. like for months she didn't crawl and wasn't too interested in trying, and then one day she just did it like a pro.
now she hasn't started walking yet or really cruising that much, but she just up and decided to start standing. straight up from sitting! she's such a funny kid.
she still just has 4 teeth, but she can already eat like a pro! she eats as much if not more than her big sister sometimes!
berries and pizza are her favorite foods. but she isn't too picky! she also really loves to eat meat.
i love this kid, and it's been my greatest joy this year watching her grow! we love you mira grace!

A few days late, but I can't believe this kid is 11 months! It's hard to get a pic of her being still these days.

She's not walking, but she's all over the place! She now has 4 teeth and she's using signs a lot to communicate. This pic is quintessentially Mira. She loves to hold something soft in her hand while she sucks her thumb. Lately she also holds her hair at the same time.

She loves playing with her big sister and the dogs. Lately she only wants to be outdoors and will take off outside any chance she gets!

I'm not ready for the big one year mark coming up! This is going too fast!

i'm a few days late writing this up, but with easter and both kids getting sick, life has been a little crazy around here.

baby mira is now 10 months, which is absolutely crazy. now 1 year feels so very close!

she definitely became more mobile in the past month. opening cabinets, pulling up, and army crawling everywhere! as soon as she turned 10 months she started the real crawling too! now she's unstoppable!

with her new found mobility there is a new interest in life and a new resistance for sleep! not sure what to do about that yet. hopefully it's just a phase. ;) it's amazing how much less stressful these things are the second time around though since you know it really will pass.

these days she can pretty much eat as much as her big sister! she loves food, and she's not too picky.
she also loves her doggies. especially zilla since she lets her climb all over her.

seeing a baby grow and their individuality unfold is such an amazing experience! her and her sister look a lot alike, but they have such distinct little personalities. i love them!

baby girl is 9 months of fun, and has been out as long as she was in now!

she still doesn't have a big interest in crawling...she just bounces and scooches on her booty. but that's fine by me. the sitting but not yet mobile stage is my favorite! and she seems to be focusing more of her energy on communicating. :)
she says mama and papa regularly, and tries to mimic a lot of other sounds. she also does 3 or 4 signs and can blow kisses!
she also still has that same easy going temperament. oh, and her favorite food is definitely blueberries!

My big girl is also growing fast! she seems like more and more of a big girl every day.

she loves her school and her friends and she has so many opinions now! she loves all things girlie, pink, purple, and sparkly. she's also imaginative at this age. i love seeing her use her imagination. she has a nonsense phrase she likes to say lately... "meena kompuna." who knows! Oh, and she's a pretty great big sister. I'm super proud of this girl. i'm proud of both of my girls actually. :)

My baby is 8 months old now, and I can't believe all the change that the past month has brought!

She finally cut 2 teeth after months of drooling. She also started saying both "mama" and "papa" in the same week! Thought I have to say "mama" was her first word! ;)

I'm amazed at the verbal ability she already has! She's also got her pincher grasp down, and is eating food like a pro. Blueberries are her current favorite.

She's still not that interested in crawling though, which is something that I'm totally ok with by the way! She does a little bootie schooch, but once she's fully mobile I'm sure it will get crazy around here!

2015 was quite the year.

i mean that in a good way. it will be one that is hard to beat.

this year we saw many prayers answered. it was like a year of harvest.

first of all our sweetheart mira was born, and she's been the perfect addition to our family. God couldn't have picked a more perfect little girl to join us!

then in other news shomik's sister got married. no one can understand what a huge answer to prayer this was. there were circumstances that made marriage a challenge for her, and marriage is really important still for a woman's security in india, so it was a constant stress on the back of our minds. and God just brought everything together and made it happen in ways that truly astounded us. even now sometimes it's hard to believe it all happened.

and to top it off, after a decade of trying to get a visa for shomik's dad to visit us in the US, he finally got a green card and has spent several months with us here.

we also got to visit india this year with the whole family for the wedding, though it will likely be our last trip there for awhile since our family has grown and shomik's dad is able to visit here now.

the most stressful thing this year was just that we spent the money. all the money. but i can't complain about the blessings we had to spend them on.

we're all healthy and so blessed.

thank you God for being with this past year, and we're praying for an amazing 2016!

i feel like a horrible mom! how did i get this far behind in documenting my sweet mira?!

anyways, the past couple months have been a whirlwind! mira enjoyed her first thanksgiving and christmas!

we waited until 6 months to let mira try solids. her first food was sweet potato, and at first she wasn't sure what to think. but after a couple days she was eating like a pro! we did baby led weaning again this time, so we let her feed herself. so far her favorite food may be bananas. she's already developing a serious pincher grasp!

shortly after she turned 5 months she started to sit up pretty well by herself. now she's a total pro, though she hasn't really tried crawling that much yet. she's also still toothless, which is a surprise to me since her teeth have been bothering her like crazy for months!

at her six month check up she weighed in a little over 16lbs...which was almost 3 lbs less than her big sis at that age! no worries though, she isn't starving...she's still in the 61st percentile. :) we're so blessed that she's a super healthy child!

she also got dedicated at our church in november and was a perfect angel baby playing peek-a-boo with the pastor while they prayed over her!

she's still as chatty as ever. i swear the other day she was crying and said mama! but i'm still waiting for her to do it again. :) she hasn't developed a sense of stranger danger yet. she seems to be my little socialite, so we'll see if that happens. she enjoyed being around people during the holidays, and she actually showed interest in some of her christmas gifts as well as the wrapping!

i love this little sweetheart!
